Forked: Show-Off Stranded Socks

Yarn: Crazy Monkey Creations MonkeyToes [100% superwash merino; 490 yds / 448 m per 100g skein]; color: Agua Dulce; 0.67 skeins

Care: hand wash cold, dry flat

Needles: US 0 / 2.0 mm Addi Turbo Lace 40" circulars

Pattern: Show-off Stranded Socks by Anne Campbell

Modifications: Somewhere after I worked the heel flap and gusset, I increased the sole stitches to 36, while leaving the instep stitches at 32! Huh?!? Anyway, to match sock #1, I knit the instep until it measured 7” from the heel and then worked a decrease round (k2tog, work to three sts before marker, k2tog, k2, ssk, work to last 2 sts, ssk). Then I worked the Round Toe from Knitting Vintage socks over 64 sts.

Comments: The stitch pattern was rather slow going, but the end result was worth it, I suppose. Also I don't care for the gusset and heel on these socks. It's interesting, but I like a nice cup to put my heel in, so if I make them again, I'll probably sub in my standard flap.
