Orangetan, Orangetan, Wherefore Art Thou...

Today during the Super Bowl (ugh!), I finished the Mystery Project, which I lovingly have been referring to as "The Beast"! I can't post pictures or details yet, but as soon as I can, I will. It's very exciting to have this out of my bag and ready for blocking!

This Week's Plan

I cast on Orangetan sock #2 during the game. I'm finished with the cuff, and will begin the leg pattern tomorrow. I think I will probably finish it in the next few days, and then I can really focus on Nantucket Jacket, Scala Socks, Little Child Socks, and Gentleman's Socks. I have a busy week ahead of me, though, so we'll see how things progress. The goal this month is to finish up all the WIPs I can reasonably finish (this excludes Rhiannon, 1930s Striped, and My First Aran), and then cast on three for rotation: one easy, one portable, and one complicated. I already know which pattern will be the complicated one: Bayerische Socks by Eunny Jang. They're very beautiful, but very intricate. I must have inhaled some glue stick to try to tackle these socks in two months. But I will give it the old college try. If I can fork them in time, it will be my greatest accomplishment yet! For the portable project, I think it will be the DROPS Cabled Bag, and I will finally start Bella Paquita as the easy pattern. I'd like to finish this my mid-March to qualify for the Sexy Knitters Club KAL, but I may be asking too much of myself here.

The Visuals

Today I went with some friends to Yarns at Lace Wings for their annual Super Bowl sale. All yarns were 40% off until 1pm and then the discount lessened 10% each extra hour. Luckily we got their early enough to get the 40% off! I was able to get yarn for three projects on my Ravelry queue, so I think I will be set for the next 9 months! I'm sure I'll buy a skein here and there, but no major purchases are on the horizon:) Is that a little voice I hear asking to see today's yarn haul? Well, I'll show you!

5 skeins: Rowan RYC Cashsoft 4 Ply in Monet

4 skeins: Louet Riverstone Chunky in Aqua

6 skeins: Misti Int'l Pima Cotton/Silk in Butter Cream

I love these yarns! They are all so soft and luscious! I can't wait to start knitting with them.

Until next time...

Congratulations on finishing the mystery project! I was impressed by your restraint at Yarns at Lace Wings.

Me too! And yes, I was pleased that I bought useful yarn. I'm so much better when I have a list:) I want to start each of those projects, but I can't until I finish two pairs of socks:(
