Sockaholic? Almost.

BySarah did this meme a while ago, and now Bronx Girl Knits has completed. I never really follow the rules of these memes. You're supposed to wait to complete them until you're tagged by someone else, but no one ever tags me, so I just complete the ones I find interesting and fun. I'm a rebel, you know!

So here goes:

***

When did you first learn to knit socks?

In 2004.

What’s the first sock you ever knit?
Sock-it-to-Me Toe Up Socks

Favorite Sock Pattern?
Hmm... I usually never make a pair twice so I'm not sure I have a favorite. I really did enjoy the Gentleman's Railway socks, though. Might have had something to do with The Netherlands, though!

Favorite needle method?
Although it's a bear to wrangle at first, I am currently in love with 2-at-a-time Magic Loop. Now I'll never have mismatched cuffs or toes again!

Favorite sock needles?
Inox US 1 (2.25mm), although I plan to try out KP options in 32" to see if they are smoother.

Who do you knit socks for?
Myself, my mom, an a very select groups of friends.

How many pairs have you knitted to date?
Not many actually. Only 15 pairs, including 2 pairs of baby booties. (I have enough yarn, however, to knit myself socks for everyday in December!)

What is on your sock knitting to-do list?
One of these days I am actually going to learn the afterthought heel. It seems so scary to me at the moment, though...

What kind of socks do you like to knit?

Striped? Haven't tried yet, but has been on the horizon for months...next pair for me will be striped.

Colorwork? Also on the horizon but not yet tried.

Plain Stockinette? Oh yeah! A little boring but quick, easy, and a great way to show off a lovely colorway

Cabled? Yup.

Lace? I LOVE making lace socks!

Anklets? I don't make these nearly enough. I think I will also have to make myself another pair of these.

Knee Socks? Tried twice, once failed. I'm not giving up on my Cookie A's, but man do they require time I don't have!

Solid colors? Yup. Great way to show off cool patterns.

Bright and crazy? Yes, but I admit, I usually make these for my mom and friends.

Faux Fair Isle (the yarn doing all of the work)? My very first pair was made using KP faux fair isle yarn. While I love those, I avoid that type of yarn now like the plague.

Hmm... since I didn't follow the rules, I guess it would be only fitting to tag a few people:)

I pass this magic sock meme to Becky, Stella, Nova, and Anna. All these gals make wonderful socks, and I'm curious to know more!

Until next time...
