Rain, Rain, Go Away!

For the last 12 days or so, the weather has been miserable. As a result, I have been sick for nearly a week. Tomorrow will make day #7. Enough already! I missed work, class, knitting, almost everything last week because of sickness. I did manage to get a fair bit of knitting done though. It's one of the only things I can do when my brain is cloudy and I am coughing, sneezing, etc. Unfortunately I can only talk about one of the projects as the others are a mystery:)

Let's get to those-that-shall-not-be-named first!

Mystery Project #1
This is the project I have been working on since mid-September. It's coming along well, but since it's bigger than my other mysteries, I have put it aside in order to make some progress on the others. I should be back on track next week.

Mystery Project #2
This project was started and finished in two days. I need to add some decorative touches, but otherwise, I am happy with how it turned out.

Marsan Watchcap
This is a hat I'm making for a male frend of mine. Not much to report beyond that.

Alrighty, on to the fun! Whilst sick and working at The Edge (coffeeshop), I thought to myself, "my hands are cold. It would be a lot nicer to type up my dissertation chapters if my hands were warm." I pondered and searched through Ravelry for fingerless gloves. I liked the sleekness of Eunny Jang's Endpaper Mitts, but upon closer investigation, the sizing was going to be tedious and the pattern was not quite bold enough for my liking. So I searched through 1000 Knitting Motifs and found a fair isle pattern that I liked. I then decided to work a glove that would fit me using US 1 needles, just like when I knit socks.

Behold - fresh from my bean - Edgy! (clever, huh?)

Quick and fun to make! I hope to finish No. 2 by Wednesday night. Though if I finally shake my illness, my time would be better spent translating Latin or writing up my chapter.

Until next time...

The little mitten looks so cute on your hand, Bunny. Can't wait to see the other one. By the way, what are the two mystery projects? Come on, you can tell me. You tell me everything! - Mom
